Who can take private lessons?
OSM offers private lessons for students from age 4 through adulthood, from beginners to advanced musicians. Placement depends on the instrument, teacher availability, and the student’s goals.
How do I choose between 30, 45, and 60 minutes?
The best length depends on age, concentration, level, repertoire, and goals. Thirty minutes can work well for younger or beginning students; longer lessons provide more time for advanced technique, musicianship, repertoire, and performance preparation.
Can my child start without prior experience?
Yes. Private lessons can begin at an introductory level. The teacher will establish appropriate first steps and help the student build healthy practice habits.
Are books and materials included?
No. Music books, instrument supplies, exam fees, and other materials are not included in the listed tuition.
Can students prepare for auditions, performances, or exams?
Yes. Private instruction may focus on recitals, school or ensemble auditions, graded exams, sight-reading, performance repertoire, or other specific goals.
How do I request a lesson time?
Open the OSM registration form, select Private Lessons, and provide the student’s instrument, experience, preferred location, and scheduling information. OSM will follow up about teacher placement and available times.
